COVID - 19 Information
Covid 19 isn't over... we are all responsible to protect vulnerable people in our community. Please do not attend the clinic if you do not have an appointment, as there is no receptionist available within the Clinic.
As of early 2026, the Royal College of Podiatry (RCPod) "continues to focus on the long-term impacts of COVID-19 on the workforce, having responded to the UK COVID-19 Inquiry's third report in March 2026". While "specific, legally mandated COVID-19 rules for podiatrists have evolved into standard infection control, the RCPod maintains guidelines on best practices for safe care". COVID-19 Inquiry Response: "The RCPod highlighted that many professionals left the field during and after the pandemic, emphasizing the need for support to avoid worsening shortages". Safety and Infection Control: "Podiatrists are expected to follow strict Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols". Vaccination and Testing: "While mandatory vaccination mandates have eased compared to early pandemic years, members are encouraged to keep up-to-date with vaccinations". Treatment Protocols: "The RCPod advises that if a staff member or patient is symptomatic or tests positive, they should follow the latest government and NHS advice on managing respiratory infections". Scope of Practice: "Podiatrists can continue to treat patients in clinical and domiciliary settings, with emphasis on professional risk assessment" - for further details please refer to The Royal College of Podiatry for an expansion on the above details.
For the most up-to-date information, the Royal College of Podiatry advises reviewing their "Clinical guidance" and "COVID-19 resource hub" on their website, as guidelines are updated in line with UK Health Security Agency recommendations.
Shielding/Vulnerable Patients
We can offer over the telephone consultations, which will enable us to provide advice and triage to the needs of the individual. Heather can wear full PPE as per the needs of the patient for in-person treatment.
